Today I have reviews on 2 Paul Mitchell haircare products that I’ve been using over the past few weeks. I’ve tried quite a few Paul Mitchell products in the past and overall, the brand has really impressed with the quality of the products. A little does really go a long way with PM products so whilst they are a little pricier, you do get many many uses out of them so they are a great investment!
Containing ‘lightweight silicones and a blend of algae, aloe, jojoba, henna and rosemary’, this is a product that is perfect for everyone’s hair routine. As with all Paul Mitchell products, The Shine has a beautiful fresh scent and is easy to apply thanks to the spray pump that releases a very fine mist to coat your hair. As the bottle says, a little really does go a long way and so use it sparingly.
The very fine mist melts into the hair, giving it amazing shine and a gorgeous glossy finish! The lightweight formula never leaves the hair greasy nor does it leave any uncomfortable texture to the hair and the beautiful shine that it does give lasts all day! Suitable to be used by itself or before using a hair straightener, I found that it worked even better when a styling tool was used as it kept the shine as well as leaving the hair silky smooth and held the styling well whilst reducing flyaways too. Hair is left looking and feeling absolutely amazing after this product so if you’re looking to add a boost of gloss and shine to your hair, I highly recommend giving this product a go as it’s one of the best hair products I’ve tried in a long time!
A great 2 in 1 heat protectant and hairspray, Hot Off The Press promises to ‘Boosts hair’s strength, fights frizz and provides flexible hold’. With a great scent, the product is really fast drying after being applied to the hair and you only need a small amount. The natural extracts help build a lightweight barrier to protect your hair from heat styling while the wheat proteins help strengthen the hair. The hairspray component allows you to increase the length of the hold of your styling without compromising the hair’s texture or appearance.
The spray doesn’t leave any sticky or greasy residue on the hair but while it can be used before and after styling, I find that there’s no need to apply it after styling as there is enough hold to the hair already thanks to its first application. It really does hold a style for the whole day and it doesn’t leave your hair ‘crunchy’ like other hairsprays can because it does deliver on its flexible hold claim! It’s evident that this product also gives the hair a nice sheen after its been straightened or curled and because it’s humidity resistant, it stops frizz and flyaways from occurring. This is again, a very nice product for the hair!
