Jo Malone Dark Amber & Ginger Lily Cologne Intense – Review
As the weather becomes cooler, you might be thinking about switching out your lighter and more fresher Summer scents to those which are a bit more warm and wintery. Today I have a scent recommendation for you – the luxurious Dark Amber & Ginger Lily Cologne Intense by Jo Malone.
As this is my first Jo Malone scent, I have to admit, I was a little confused as to whether or not this was a scent for females or males due to the ‘cologne’ title! After a bit of research it seems that the scent is in fact for females, though many do classify it as a unisex fragrance as well.
The Jo Malone Dark Amber & Ginger Lily Cologne Intense is an absolutely incredible scent! I’ve never come across a fragrance that was this hard to describe but I think that is what makes this scent so interesting and one of my favourites!
A sensual, calming blend. Lavished with lily, black orchid and rare Kyara incense. Smoky. Seductive. The essence of evening. – Jo Malone
With a top note of Black Cardamom, heart note of Black Orchid and base note of Kyara Incense, this scent exudes sophistication and luxe. At first, the scent is quite spicy though this does then settle down and you’re left with the perfect balance between a warm and spicy woody scent that still remains quite fresh. Not heavy in the sense of the notes, it does have a smoky richness to it, making it the perfect scent for evenings. As it does mellow down to a less spicy note after application, it is still suitable for wear during the day though I personally reserve it for special events or nights out.
The fragrance is quite sophisticated though easy to wear, even in your 20’s and I’ve received quite a few compliments and questions as to what scent I’m wearing when I do use this cologne. Long lasting on the skin, I haven’t found a fragrance comparable so it’s definitely worth taking a look at when you’re near a Jo Malone counter!
The Jo Malone Dark Amber & Ginger Lily Cologne Intense 100ml is available from Jo Malone online or from their counters.
