15 Things I Loved In 2015
Before kicking the post off, I wanted to quickly say Happy New Year! Whether 2015 was your best year yet, or one you’d rather forget, I hope 2016 is filled with happiness, love and excitement!
To pay homage to the year that has just passed, I’m sharing 15 things I loved in 2015.
Although I only started watching the the Nexflix documentary series ‘Making a Murderer’ last week, I finished all 10 episodes in 2 days and it truly is a MUST WATCH! Probably the best thing I watched in 2015, the documenary focusses on a man who is freed after being wrongly convicted of a crime, only to then be accused of a murder. With twists and turns, miscarriages of justice and police corruption, it is an eye opening series.
The brushegg I purchased for only a dollar from eBay has become one of my favourite purchases ever as it truly makes washing makeup brushes easier and faster. It’s able to really scrub out all the product from the brush hairs, leaving your brushes squeaky clean!
After spotting this Monica Vinader Riva Diamond Hoop Ring on numerous YouTubers, I’ve been obsessed with it ever since and have come so close to purchasing it but it is pretty expensive so for now, I’ll be admiring it from afar.
Cloud Nine’s ‘The Wand’ was a product I reviewed on the blog last year and it has become my favourite hair product. It heats up incredibly fast and allows you to achieve a wide range of looks with the waves/curls lasting for a couple of days. The easy to use design also makes styling a breeze.
2015 was the year for Candy Crush to invade my phone and I have all the variations of the game from Blossom Blast to Farm Heroes Saga. The games seriously become addictive after you begin playing it!
My go to meal of the past year was Blowtorched/Grilled Salmon and Prawn Nigiri! I probably had it way too many times but it is utterly delicious and much healthier than other meal options when at Uni or out and about shopping.
In terms of a skincare constant that saw me through quite a chunk of 2015 and was my go to when my skin began to freak out after trialing too many products, the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion+ was it! Light but hydrating, this cream is the perfect choice for anything looking for a no fuss, hydrating formula to leave your skin feeling moisturised and smooth.
Pixi Glow Tonic received a huge amount of attention and hype last year so I had to give it a go and it honestly has made a difference to my skin, though it did take a while. When I stopped using it to test out another toner, I really noticed just how well it worked as my skin wasn’t as smooth or bright after using the new toner.
If you’ve been a reader of the blog for a while, then you’d know how much I love a good liquid eyeliner. in 2015, the Marc Jacob’s Magic Marc’er Precision Pen Eyeliner was one I was constantly reaching for. Extremely long lasting and black, it’s easy to apply and looks fabulous whether you’re just framing the lash line or going for a wing.
I did quite a lot of reading last year but I loved beauty based books. From Sali Hughes’ Pretty Honest to Fleur de Force’s Glam Guide and Lisa Eldridge’s Face Paint, these beauty books are so easy to read whilst being informative and entertaining.
Probably my favourite thing from 2015 was being to able to work with some incredible people and brands, bringing you posts and reviews on a wide range of products! I was to attend a number of events and meet brands and other bloggers which I feel blessed to be able to do as you, the reader really drives the success the blog has, so thank you so much!
I watched quite a lot more YouTube last year and was obsessed with a number of beauty channels such as Glam Life Guru and Lily Pebbles. Definitely take a look at their videos if you aren’t familiar with them.
Contouring was all the range and being quite fair, it can be a challenge because you really need to buff in the product but the Poni Cosmetics Contour Brush #18 made it so much easier. I’ve also used this brush to apply highlight and it works just as well too.
I purchased a pair of Nike Free 5.0 and they are honestly one of the best investments I’ve ever made! I used to wear flats to Uni everyday but the walking to and from the stations left my feet aching and these shoes make you feel as though you’re walking on clouds, they are that comfy!
My final favourite of 2015 are Lily Pebble’s Brookies (Brownie Cookies) which have become my most baked dessert. They’re easy to make, chocolately and delicious.
What are your 2015 favourites?
